BASIC RULES

A handball team consists of 14 players. No more than 7 players can be on the court on the game time; the other half consists of the substitutes. 

 

At all times in the game:

• There must be a goalkeeper; the only one that can enter the goal area. 

• They can play with less than 5 players, until the referees decide to suspend the game.

• Substitutes can enter the court

• A faulty substitution equals a two-minute suspension and the game is restarted with a free-throw of the opponents

• The team official/coach is not allowed to enter the court

• Maximum of 3 steps with the ball

• Touch the ball with a foot or leg below the knee

 

The Goalkeeper is allowed to:

• Touch the ball with any part of his body. 

• Leave the goal area without the ball. 

• Play in the game area. 

 

 

The Goalkeeper isn’t allowed to:

• Leave the goal area with the ball.

• Take the ball from the playing area into the goal area.
